Alternatively, I wonder if you could mount the parts underneath the lid of the left side cup holder. Then stick a rubber mat to grip the phone.

I don't want to have to put the phone "away." Putting it IN the center console will only mean it will get left in the car on occasion. Unfortunately, neither of the cup holder covers allow for the charger to be placed under the cover as when it opens there's no room for the charger in the cover's slot.

The ES 350 just doesn't have a decent place to put a wireless charger. I hope that when they do the redesign for 2019 they solve this problem and don't just stick it in the center console like the NX. That just screams design laziness.

My idea was cut a small hole on the underside of the lid so the charger could fit beneath the wood/gloss black trim. Then run the cord into the center console for power.
