Default Insurance Question... PCS in VIN number?

Question for others with crash prevention systems... Does the VIN contain information that shows those features are on our vehicles? Seems plausible but I guess I have become skeptical in my old age.

No, I don't believe that would be contained in the VIN

It does NOT appear to be embedded into the VIN so my original speculation was accurate but unfortunately we also learned that the insurance company we are planning on changing over to (State Auto) does NOT offer ANY discounts for it either so a bit dissapointed there. Brother-in-laws insurance company so not a lot of "wiggle room" for considering other companies that may offer such discounts but we will probably still get quotes from Progressive and Geico anyway just to ensure that we are getting a competive rate. Current insurance company, Kemper is WAY overpriced some 3 years into our coverage with them so they are "out the door".

Shop it regardless of family ties.

If the brother-in-law isn't competitive... not your fault.

Brother-in-law has already moved us to a more competiive provider. That provider states that they do not offer any (additional) discounts for PCS. Just curious if anyone here has gotten ANY discounts due to having PCS on their vehicle. The LAST thing I need is 20 hungry insurance agents calling me in futile attempts to get me to buy their coverage even though they are more expensive or have poor customer service. We do our best to stay OFF those solication lists.
