Lexus ES 350 Bumper Grill Obsidian Black

That blacked-out grill looks great. I went the opposite direction and the dealer added a chrome metal lower grill, but now I think your idea looks much better, especially on light colored cars. The NX has a black chrome grill that looks stunning...

Thanks, Arty101. At least with the Plastidip, if I get tired of the look, I can always remove it for free. If I had the grill and bumper professionally painted, I would have had to pay more $$ to change it back. My only concern with using Plastidip is taking it through a car wash. I've never seen a car get fully clean with the touchless type but I know that it is safe on the paint. The brush or those long curtain types do a much better job but it might scratch off the Plastidip.
Also, I would have liked the clean look of the black spindle grill but unfortunately, IL requires front plates and cops around Chicago and the suburbs love to pull luxury cars over. Not having a plate would be an easy excuse to pull me over and I just don't have time or the money for the extra hassle.

First off, you take it through a car wash?
Second, I'm not sure what part of the Chicago area you're from, but I haven't had a front plate on my cars since the mid 80's. I've only been asked about it 3 times in that many years. Funny, though, the only fine I've had to pay was when my ES was a couple weeks old in Barrington, where every other car is missing the front plate. Oh well, I just paid the $50 and moved on.

I live on the Northside (Beach Park/Gurnee/Waukegan) where the suburb cops have nothing better to do than pull you over. Because I'm always busy driving to different appointments, I just don't need the hassle or have the time to get pulled over and give the city more of my money. I do have a tinted plate cover on the front to try to "hide" the plate against the spindle grill as best as possible.

Nice grill, Bailey. It looks very nice on that color. Glad you got it professionally done; it shows.
