Trunk Emblem Removal
For those who would like to remove the "ES350" or "ES300h" emblems from their trunk lid, but are hesitant to do so because of the unknowns involved, here's some recent, practical experience. I removed my ES350 emblems today using dental floss and my fingers. No heat gun or hair dryer was necessary, though I did the job on a fairly warm day. I used the dental floss to saw away under a corner of each letter/number, lifting it enough to get my finger under the edge and slowly pry the emblem off the metal surface. In every case, 98% of the flexible adhesive (like rubber cement) came up with the emblem. The remainder I could roll up and remove with a finger. When that was done, there was a very faint outline of each emblem left on the metal surface, probably due to a slight wear difference between the uncovered paint surface and the area covered by each emblem. This was easily cleaned up with a wet rag.
I'd attach a pic, but there's literally nothing to see! The "ES350" is gone!
