Thanks Kenny. The dealership replaced the AMP and it sounds much better. However, now there is hardly any sound coming out of the subwoofer and majority of the bass is coming from the front speakers.
Also, the volume goes up to just about where I like to listen when alone (I like it loud), but no higher at max 62. With my SC430, the volume goes down when the navigation system delivers a message. That's not the case with my ES. Result - I don't even hear the message. Dealer says people didn't like being distracted from their music so they changed it. Bad change as far as I'm concerned.

2014 ES300h Starfire Pearl, Parchment, Michelin, Ultra Luxury Package (just to get the Mark Levinson)
Since my last post, I have fine tuned my Mark Levinson and now I am extremely pleased with the quality and sound. I set the treble at -3 and the mid at 0 and base at +4. Without adjusting the tone controls, the sound is screeching and hurts my ears at high volume. This thing is WAY too treble happy with very little bass without the adjustments.
I have been extremely pleased with my Mark Levinson system. I do wish that Lexus had included an adjustment for the sub, but I still think this system sounds great. I've spent some time tweaking the levels for the different types of input: USB, Pandora and XM-Radio that I listen too. XM has the worst quality of sound.
I also listen to some of my DVD-A discs that work in my Lexus. I used to own an Acura TL. While it is not the same quality as the Acura, I'm pleased.
I have a '14 ES 350 UL/ML and I think the ML audio is great. Crystal clear. I'm impressed. I enjoy good audio, but not that I go around trying other systems, so.... That said, I've tried every app out there to burn a DVD-Audio disk to play in the car...but the car doesn't recognize any burned disk--even the apps that are really burning DVD-Audio (and not just a DVD with mp3's, etc.) Has anyone been successful at burning a DVD-Audio and using in the ML system?
This is my second ES with a Mark Levinson sound system and I have never been impressed. Unfortunately, it comes with the UL model.
It requires a lot of tweaking to get a decent sound. Each source requires separate adjustments with those from apps providing the worst quality. I always get the sense that the music is shouting at me from the dashboard. My 2009 Toyota Highlander with standard audio sounds better and provides a surround effect that immerses you in the music.

DVD-Audio used to work on a 2008 LS and a 2012 LS. None of thise discs will play on a 2014 LS. Lexus took away the ability to play DVD-Audio on the 2013+ LS models. The manuals now specifically say that DVD-Audio discs might not work. In the past they said that DVD-Audio was supported.
I was able to burn a DVD-Video disc with 24 bit 96 KHz PCM audio and that plays without a problem as long as you dont have any images or video, just plain audio.
It took some arguing with my dealer to convince them to change out the amp, but I just had my amp replaced to the new one, and the issue is fixed. As others have noted, more of the bass is now directed to the front door speakers. I will have to play with the settings to even out the bass output and direct some to the subwoofer. But overall I'm satisfied.
As noted in previous posts, new amp part # is 86280-0WA71.

I recently purchased the LBX. I never tried the sound system since I expected the luxury brand sound. Reading some posts on the Levinson sound system I am at awe that some are getting a beautiful soiund Wish i could say the same.
My ML system is not surround. Forces all the sound to the front. MIxer will not allow fade to rear and anything past behind center of car the sound is lessen. What amazes me is it sound metallic. All my previous cars were new. BMW x6 wife X1, LIncoln MKx, Infinity touring , even a mini cooper had a more rich sounding system. My God my 2001 Buick Park Avenue sounded better.
Toyota dropped the ball for a 50,000euro luxury suv to put in such sub standard sound system. It cannot be changed out. RATS!!
