Anybody have an idea of what Toyota model(s) in the past 5 years are most comparable to the Lexus 2013-2018 ES350?

Avalon and Camry.

ES is built on the Avalon platform.

The ES has the same engine and platform as the Avalon. I considered the Avalon, but I got the ES at a much better bargain. Either car is a safe choice.

The Avalon. However I bought my ES due to the great deal at the time and also due to a more-upscale dealer experience.

Prices, especially if you go CPO, can be very similar as well, so Lexus is the way to go IMO.

I have a 2016 Avalon - it’s definitely a step down in the interior - Avalon interior (although loaded) is cheap plastic, shiny fake metal, easily scratched, cheaper looking leather seats (uncomfortable too), weird looking dash design. Not too bad looking on the outside (in my opinion). Everything else on the car (frame/drivetrain) is the same.

I’m coming off a Lexus LS460, which I loved, but it did start to get a little pricey to fix after 150,000 miles or so.

Wish I had bought something a little better because we moved into a little bit of an upscale neighborhood and my neighbor across the street has a McLaren, guy to my right has all beamers and Audi’s and everyone else has a Porsche SUV. I’m bringing the house values down. 😂😂

Wait for one of them to pick up up from the German repair shop in your reliable ES!

I owned a 08 Avalon for 10+ yrs. I now have the 2016 Lexus 300ES-H. I love the Luxury & fuel economy of the ES. The AVY was very reliable & comfortable. What I do miss is the size. The Avalon was bigger with larger seats. I'm looking forward to the next 10 yrs. of trouble free luxury driving.

Are you sure about that? If there is any difference in interior dimensions between an ES and an Avalon of the same generation, it has to be very small.

I don't have the spec's to prove the comparison. I know the previous Lex generation was more Camry. The Avy & Lex are now built on the same chassis. The extender seat on the drivers side helps. Rear leg room is ample in both. The rear avy seat reclined. Both are built in Japan. The Avy had a bigger interior overall. My wife loves the Lexus luxury. Happy Wife Happy Life.

With only 3 exceptions, the interior dimensions for the ES and Avalon (of same generation) are within .6" of each other, In a few cases, the Avalon is slightly bigger, and, in a couple of places, the ES is bigger. The 3 dimensions for which there is more than .6" difference are rear leg room (ES is .8" bigger), rear hip room (Avalon is .8" bigger), and rear shoulder room (Avalon is 2" bigger). Without using a tape measure, I can't imagine that anyone could notice the difference.

Also, since the 2016 model year, virtually all Avalons and ES350 have been built in the US (Kentucky).
