Default Auto Start

Hello,

I have an 2018 ES350 and was told by a local auto start company they could add an auto start and program it into my factory FOB. I called my dealership to check if any warranty is null and void since I might have a third party install the starter. I got the run around but no straight answer. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. I don't think it makes sense to pay Lexus on a monthly basis for this feature.

Thanks,
fdiphill

A remote start costs about $300.00 or maybe a little more installed. I had one installed on my 2013 ES. You can buy 4 years of remote access from Lexus for $320.00. or $80.00 a year.
If you plan on keeping the car longer then it's worth it. Otherwise I'd pass...

I agree and in addition, the factory fob's range of (published) '80 limits the practical use of any RS, subscripted or added.
If you really do not need the App's car finder, monitor, status check, guest driver watcher, service scheduler features for
the $80/year subscription consider getting the aftermarket with its own side fob with greater range.

I went aftermarket Remote start with Alarm; I thought the Lexus subscription didn't work for me since after a few years, that's the cost of a RS anyway. I don't think aftermarket RS voids warranty (I didn't even think of that when I got the remote start last year) as I have had it in for service since the remote start was installed and no problem at the dealer. The remote start works off of the factory remotes (lock 3xs) but range is very limited. The remote start I got came with a 2 way remote so I use that most of the time I remote start. I went Compustar.
