My stock Michelins are screeching when I make tight turns at low speeds into parking spots. My tires are at 33 psi and they have about 14k miles on them. Does anybody else experience this?
Could be the psi which is easy to adjust up or down, but may also be the type of surface in the parking lot. If concrete, the tires on my F150 squeal at one gas station, but don't on my driveway which is a lot rougher surface. The gas station concrete is a lot smoother from more traffic.
I wonder if it's just the asphalt of the road, since it doesn't do it on all surfaces. I keep the tires pretty low at 33 psi cold. They have 14k miles on them and they're a year old. They're the stock Michelin Primacy MXV4 on 17s. I was just wondering if other people have noticed this too with these tires.
Hang out at any gas station/convenience store and you'll hear the squeal on a regular basis. It's a mix of the concrete/oil/gas/dirt/coke/bubble gum/candy bars, etc.
I ran the same Michelin tires at same pressure for 62k miles on my '14 ES 350 and never noticed any noise when making tight turns. An alignment check would be my suggestion.
