Been there, done that. One quick lube place did my oil change on a 98 Camry we had. They told us they were done, so we got in car and were barely out of the bay when they stopped us--they had forgotten to put oil in the car.
Another time, in a company truck, the kid had changed the oil, and unbeknownst to him the gasket from the old filter had gotten stuck and when he put the new filter on it did not seal. Needless to say, the oil was pouring out. So, I am very leary of some the quick lube places.

You are responding to a 5 year old post. I suspect they’ve made a decision by now.

Did not really notice the date. I just saw the comment about quick lubes and keyed off that.

Taking your ES to a Toyota dealership will have the same results as going to a Lexus dealership, since the oil and filter used will typically be exactly the same.

In relevance to other comments in the thread, I would never go to any "quick change" oil place, ever. Period.

FWIW, I change my own oil just to make sure it's "done right." I know this isn't an option or flavor for everyone.

I'm afraid that in Canada this is not the case. Even the SAME part is cheaper at a Toyota Dealership, AND the Lexus Dealer's mechanics rates are higher. Bottom line for us is that
its cheaper in the long run to take a Lexus to a Toyota Dealer, unless its warranty work - Toyota will not perform any warranty work on a Lexus.

Well that's kind of what I meant, it's the same in the States. What I meant by "results," was that even though the price will usually be cheaper at a Toyota dealership, you're still getting the same oil, same filter, etc as you would at a Lexus dealership.

Understood. Thanks for clarifying.
