Some climate control lights not working
Here is a shot of nearly every HVAC system light there is, front defrost can not be lit when Auto is illuminated and recirculate can not be lit when fresh air is on.
Which of these lights seems to be inoperative on yours? I am afraid the answer is not going to be pretty if you are intent on simply replacing a function light.
It will entail replacing the entire control panel... Glad to hear that the actual system is heating and cooling satisfactorily anyway.

My car is just out of warranty 2016 ES350 and I have the Auto light not working. Is this common? If it's not the fuse (haven't checked that yet), this could be an expensive fix.
OP - Did you ever resolve this?

If you hit on the Auto light, it doesn't light up? It's not normal. We have that car with same here and it works.
I have same problem with my recirc light. You can hear the little motor change the type of air from fresh to recirc, but the light doesn't work all the time. At times, it's on, at times dim, and at times completely off. The auto and fresh air lights work, though. This just started about 2 months ago. I have a 2013 ES 300h. Since everything works, just the light is faulty, I'm going to leave it alone. No sense in taking apart the car and all the expense for something so minor.
Purchased a 2014 ES350 1.5years back and had noticed that the DUAL button's light doesnt work.
About a year ago, the Recirculation button light stopped working (left-most of the 3 lights on that bar). A few months after that, the Outside Air light (right-most) stopped working. Note, the Auto light (middle) still works fine.
I have confirmed that the intrinsic function of all the buttons work, and that they do change the system settings.
Just last night, somehow the Outside-Air light started working (right most). Upon returning to the vehicle after it was working but the car had been shut off, the light was still working, but flickering very faintly....the function of that button still working completely fine and the airflow circulation can be manipulated using that button.
Wanted to know if anyone has fixed this issue, and if there is any documentation. I want to start by replacing some fuzes, namely Fuze 42 and 43. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
For reference, the vehicle is equipped with Mark Levinson so its difficult to find a replacement head unit for this model year.

The issue is in the indicator light, not the white backlighting....
