Expected MPG vs actual on Hybrid models
#17
IMHO Always calculate, do not go by what the car tells you. Do not go by short trips, only calculate when you fill up the tank. I believe that is the most accurate way to do record your actual mpg.

Exactly, I calculate at every fill-up. I've noticed that the car estimate is about 0.5-2mpg better than my calculation.

Using the Past Record feature
Here is a screen shot of our 2014 ES300h showing Average MPG over the course of a year or so.
The columns show the dates the Average MPG was reset using the steering wheel buttons in the
Driver Information Screen in the IP. Tried to reset each season, Spring/Summer... Note: the 12/13/16
to 4/29/17 segment was also the period we rotated the Blizzaks on rather than the Primacys.

By the car, I am getting about 38mpg with mostly highway driving at 70mph. 2015 ES300h. I have a lead foot during non-highway driving...but I try to hypercruise on the highways. Great car.
