Parking lot help
No, and that would be a great option - it is something you will have to deal with as long as you have the car. I often find myself parked an embarrassing distance from the front curb.
Enjoy the car and congratulations.

As the other members have stated, there is no built-in option available to prevent one from striking the curb or a parking slot barrier. If you find yourself running into these objects more often than not, there are electronic alarms that can be attached under the front of the car to alert you when you are getting close. My 1998 Corvette is extremely low in the front about
5" clearance and is an easy target for damage. A manufacturer has come out with an appliance that attaches under the bumper and is wired thru the engine compartment to a light or beeper that alerts when approaching a stationery object. I've only seen this in a Corvette catalog but think it would work on any vehicle. If this is important to you it is something to consider.

I recall having read several posts here in which people did report having scraped the lip of the bumper. Not only does the fairly low bumper lip make it vulnerable to that kind of damage, but the relatively long overhang on the ES makes it even more vulnerable, especially when parking on unlevel surfaces.
I was thinking that might be a solution though it isn't always possible and not all families are amenable to the idea. A new car with an unfamiliar front end make it all but inevitable, especially the first time you have 4-5 adults in it.
The Park Assist sensors usually detect the oversize "Truck" curb stops that our
car would scrape but not the regular car wheel stops that the ES valence passes
over. Try stopping back a bit, not as if our cars are overly long and would hang
out into traffic.
