Parking Questions
Hey everyone. Quick question that I have been thinking too much about.
1. When you park in your driveway which way do you park? My drive way is on an incline that's pretty steep and I always use my footbrake when parking on it. But this being a FWD car what side should face down the hill? Front of the car? Or the back? Am I making sense? Or does this not even matter?
Thanks again CL community

With the car in "park" and the parking brake engaged, I think there's little chance that they would both fail and the car roll backwards. Plus much easier to gauge distance looking forward rather than over your shoulder at a garage door... Pull it in head first IMO...

I usually go head first but even when I dont the backup camera helps gauge the distance to garage door anyway. And yeah I seriously doubt both breaks will fail

I usually park nose out (reverse in) if I do not park in my garage. It is just easier to pull straight out in the morning than back out.
Here is something to think about... When you reverse, weight shifts onto the front wheels (the drive wheels in your FWD car) but when you go forward, weight shifts to the rear (taking weight off the drive wheels). This may only be of concern in the winter if your driveway is snowy and slippery (and long): It may be easier to reverse out of a slippery driveway (more weight over the drive wheels) than to pull straight out.

If you're worried about the car rolling, turn the steering wheel all of the way right or left after you stop. Just decide what you want it to hit on the right or left if the unthinkable happens. And I agree with chromedome , rear bumper dents are probably cheaper to fix than front grille dents.
