Default 2015 es

Just got a 2015 ES 350, no navigation, with the luxury package, it appears to have only a single CD player not 6 CD changer. Is this correct? Been trying to load my CD audio books and not having any luck. My 2007 ES base car had a 6 disk player. CDs changers on the way out?

Yes, CD changers are on their way out, most people today stream audio off their phones. My 2015 LS460 only has a 1 slot CD player also.

Alternatively, copy all your music to a USB drive and stick in the center console. I always have my music with me whether I have my phone or not. I use the CD player for any "latest purchases" for a time until I get 'em on my USB drive.

I can't remember the last time I used a CD. My CD slot in my car is used for a phone mount.

To answer your question, yes CD changers are ancient. Some carmakers are even getting rid of the in-dash CD player. Probably will be gone in 5-8 years.

If history is any indicator, Lexus will be one of the last to remove CD players from it's car.

The 2009 SC430 was the last car in the US that came equipped with a tape deck.

Nooo! Don't get rid of the CD player! =) Seriously, I buy CDs and rip 'em and put 'em on my iPhone, iPad, USB for my car, my wife's car, computers. I don't want to pay for streaming forever nor Apple/Amazon music for ever. I like to own my music. With iTunes and Amazon, etc., you are "leasing" your music. Case in point, in the early years of iTunes I bought a few songs...they are no longer available on iTunes. Dunno why but I lost 'em somehow and I cannot get them back. But with CDs, I'll always have my music to do with as I please. I'm a computer geek, but I just not into buying everything online and not having physical copies...yet (including CDs, DVDs, Blu-ray, even books.)

Well, my two cents.
