Question about recently purchased ES 2013
Hello Guys,
before 2 weeks i purchased a lexus es350 2013 US Specs
the car is in really nice condition with 44K Miles driven.
I have a doubt about a slight vibration when the car stand still and the gear on D position, AC is off and vibration won't stop unless I move to N position.
I checked some previous forums some say it normal although im sure its not normal, other says there is an upgrade for engine mounts?
your help will be appreciated.
Thanks,

Weeks ago while shopping for 14's, the salesman started an ES and and popped the hood for us. He had me place my hand on the decorative engine cover. I easily felt vibration and looked at him and said, OK? He then had me to place my hand on the passenger side shock tower. It was absolutely vibration free. I was really amazed at the difference. I know it was in Park, so I'm not comparing my experience to yours, but it just brought up my experience of engine vibration in comparison to the body of the car.
You mentioned an 'upgrade' for engine/motor mounts?? Is that what people have said, meaning, there's an 'upgrade' meaning a newer/better design to the original? That would be very surprising if there were a newer/better designed & 'upgraded' motor mount. It would be sad actually, but that's my opinion. Regarding your motor mounts being 'bad', I would really be surprised/disappointed if they were bad by way of ripped or ruptured with only 44k miles on the ticker! Do we know if the OEM motor mounts on a 2013 are solid or hydraulic?
Regardless, the 2013 drivers should chime in here and let you know what they feel while the car is in D.
I believe I remember LESZ owning a 2013 but he's in a 2016 now? Maybe he recalls how his 2013 felt? I'm sure there's many other 2013 owners who can chime in.
I'll be following this thread.

It is normal to have a slight vibration in the es350 when it is in drive and stopped. Don't waste your money on new mounts. If the mounts are bad then the vibration will be so bad you will know.
The es300h has no vibration when it is stopped because the engine turns off. But then there is a slight thunk when it starts up.

There was a similar thread here before. My guess is that it was some time last summer.
After reading that thread, I thought that, perhaps, I just wasn't paying attention enough to notice if there was any vibration when the car was in drive and idling. So, I made a point, for a few days, of paying attention when I was stopped at traffic lights. I checked it with both the AC on and with the AC off, and I couldn't feel even a slight vibration in the steering wheel, shifter, seats or any other part of the car. Now, with my 2017 ES 350, the behavior is the same regarding absence of any vibration when the car is idling in drive.

I am not aware of any vibration from my 2013 ES 350 when idling in drive. (on a level surface)
Unless you stomp on the throttle, up to about 35 mph, mine feels and sounds like an electric car.
It is very quiet and smooth.
Addendum: I put my fingertips on my steering wheel while sitting in my driveway, waiting to pull into the garage, and I did indeed detect a faint vibration.
I had to go looking for it, and probably would have never thought anything of it.
