Default BASS! Rockford Forstgate P300-12

I added a lot of Bass to my ES by installing a P 300–12 Rockford Forsgate powered sub. This woofer really hits hard and rocks the car while filling it with bass. The installation of this unit is not quite a D I Y type of job. You have to connect this power subwoofer as you would connect an amplifier by running wires to the battery and grounding the woofer to the car. But you can use speaker level inputs and not patch cords.

It comes with a wired remote so that you can control the amount of bass. I mounted it on the side of my seat with Velcro. So far I haven't turn the volume of the bass past halfway. My wife on the other hand keeps it at almost off.

The cost was $184 From eBay. http://m.ebay.com/itm/351069267295?nav=SEARCH

It's held in place with Velcro and hasn't moved.

So where did you connect the inputs from?

I tapped the factory sub for one side and the driver side rear door speaker wires at the b pillar for the other input. That is the part that may have you looking for the local audio store. Hey you can do it, I did. Oh, you will need an amp kit if you are going to take this on.

Did you really need to tab the door speaker?
Shouldn't the sub tap been enough?

You need two inputs. Like right and left. There is only a sub on the back deck of the base audio system ES. So no other place to go but the rear doors. Here is a shot of the wires.

You just changed the impedance of that output by doing that. You should have just split the sub wire.

Mike where were you at 12am as I was installing that thing. That info there would have saved me 2 hours easily.

The sub has no left/right though.
Would putting both speaker positives to the positive and both speaker negatives to the negative of the subwoofer work?

A better way to do that would be to use an active line output converter, where the channels would be separated externally and there would be several benefits.

I ended up wiring this the other day.
The sub has a High Level Input feature, so you can use the rear speakers ( + & -).
Works just fine, no need for a LOC.
