I selected the luxury package. And I do own a Chevy, the blue one to the left..a different animal...

I drove an Impala a few weeks ago. I flew to Virginia for a wedding and rented one for the weekend. It does indeed have a nice, soft ride. It also steers like a boat.
The boat feel was nice, for driving slowly slowly on freshly paved rural roads with little or no other traffic. It made me very nervous in town.
I suppose it is a matter of personal preference.

I started this thread several months ago and I'd delete it if I could because I recently rented the all new Impala for 3 days and 800 miles and was shocked at how uncomfortable the car was. Unlike the previous generation Impala, the new generation has a hard ride and hard seats. So fatigue sets in quickly. No wonder the car is not selling - it's significantly more expensive than the older Impala and less comfortable to sit in and ride in.
