Self Leveling HIDs
#31
It says on the manual "If Equipped" p.89 or 753. The 2013 model will not have this may be on the 2014 release they might.
But before ignition you can see the self leveling warning icon.

Okay, so I checked both the manual, the window sticker, brochure, and web site, and no where does it say the HIDs are self leveling. However, there is the self leveling warning icon at start up (before it disappears). It does not do the "bounce" or "down and up sweep" at start up, so I'm guessing it really does not have this feature.

Well, we the 2nd class citizens (canadians) have this option. Here is the link if it helps.

But I won't be suprised when my car arrives it doesn't include it and nothing I say to Lexus will change it.

Well, your Candians have the auto leveling HIDs on the Leather/Nav, Touring and Tech packages, This is listed as part an option and included in these packages, where its not even an option in the states. And it seems you have the Lane Departure Assist that not even available here either. I'm afraid to ask how the first class citizens are treated.

I think this ES350 has self leveling head lamp but not the same as the Active Headlamp on other cars. If you would open the hood and look at the back of the head lamp there is a white small motor assembly with wiring. I also confirm on the rear passenger side suspension that there is a level sensor installed.
Now the question is, when does the head lamp levels it self. We need to load the trunk heavily and check the head lights to see when it will adjust it self.
This is not the same as what they call as "active headlamp" on other luxury car that when you start the car, the lights goes up and down when it initializes for leveling. I wonder if they use the same headlamp on the new GS and LS.

All my previous Lexus vehicles with auto leveling did an initialization check when starting the car. The adaptive lighting is different, it actually checks up, down, out and in.
The wiring on the back of the headlamp housing could be the HID ballast.
LS has adaptive HIDs or LEDs.

Lane Change Assist and Lane Departure Alert are available are available on the ES in Canada, but the Lane Change Assist is not available on the ES in the US, AFAIK.

Don't have it, but from my understanding Lane Change Assist actually gives the steering wheel a bit of a tug to warn the driver and possibly keep it in the lane.

'Lane change assist' is not the correct name for that feature in the USA. It is actually called LKA (Lane Keep Assist) by Lexus. There is no Lexus option that helps you change lanes.
But, the Canadian brochure seems to list the LCA and LDA as separate options in their technology package. I suspect this is incorrect as the car would not include both, it would be one or the other. LCA/LKA is an advanced version of the basic LDA option.
Perhaps someone from Canada who ordered the tech package can confirm what it actually came with.
