We bought at Lexus of Orange Park. The sales guy was Arthur and donot remember his last name. He was pretty good but there was some pressure from his boss. Stick to your number and be prepared to walk away. I promise you will get a phone call back within 24 hours. Look at the my previous post and you can see the deal I haggled. I hope you beat that deal and save $$ for yourself. It is highly competitive market for buyers and sellers. Patience and preparedness to walk away are the key things. If you tend to get nervous just dont look them in the eye and just look at the number you wrote on a peice of paper.

Best wishes to you!!

Thanks a lot for all the help! This is a great forum here, and I am highly honored as a newbie to get all of this feedback. I'm gonna offer 40K for the 44K ES, and then walk away and see what happens...

Anyone out there deal recently with one of Greater Boston Lexus Dealers on an ES350? Would like to hear what kind of deal you got with as much detail as possible.

Thanks in advance.

Wow, it pays to be in certain parts of the country. No dealer here in MS or LA would budge at all on price. They let me walk....

True, but how did you go about your offer? Did you just walk in and say "I'll give you $40k on that ES stickered at $44k"? Or, did you let him make the first move?

No I didn't start out like that, lol. We looked the car over for a while (hour). I inquired about the price, and he said 44K. I then asked if they were willing to come down. He said I doubt it. I told him what I'll offer for it and he left and came back and replied the sales manager won't budge below 44K. So I said well thanks for your time, and if there's any change to call me, and left. Well....that was 4 days ago....I don't think anyone's gonna call......LOL

What's that old saying? A bird in hand is better than two in the Sale Manager's office? Spend the time and energy going thru the Costco program since they don't seem to be moving too fast.

I spent little time in the dealerships negotiating to be honest...I did most of it thru emails from several different local dealers...

I did spend time on doing a test drive at 2 of them and spent maybe 5 minutes on the price...I eventually got the best deal I was able to get at $39.2k OTD...Was able to get the financing down to 1.9% too...

Is it cheaper to get a 300h from Costco in SoCal vs neighboring regions like AZ, NV?

The hybrid market is so huge in SoCal.

On the one hand, that means that they move so much volume, maybe they will be willing to go lower on price.

On the other hand, that also could mean that they know if you don't buy it at their price, they can just wait for the next sucker to come along and buy it.

Makes you wonder which states/regions have the lowest overall new car prices?
