Removing Steering Column
Recently noticed some squeaking sound when the steering column is retracted thus, wanted to dissemble the steering column to fix it. Can any assist with this matter? Thank you in advance.

First try spraying Silicone Lube around various areas. Sometimes the wheel rubs on the dash. There is a known issue on some with a click or play in the column that is an annoyance but not a safety issue.

I hear a squeaky sound when the steering column tilts and extends to my set position everytime I start the car. Is that what you're referring to? If so, I reckon the sound is from the plastic housing and trim panels. While I would be inclined to fix it aswell, I fear I will do more harm than good by prying open aged plastic that may have turned brittle over time.
Good luck with your fix. Given it's somewhat simple I may end up giving it a try aswell. For now, I've applied some plastic/rubber interior dressings on all the surfaces I can reach. It hasn't necessarily reduced the noise by much, but there is a slight difference nonetheless.

It's kind of a "just deal with it" squeaky noise that happens after sitting in warmer weather and progresses to an every start sound and probably eventual telescopic/reraction failure. This gen hasn't been around long enough for people to experience telescopic failure but I'm sure these are signs of it.
Some people have managed to spray WD40 in generic areas and even through paneling to get the noise to lessen. Others have paid $$$$ to get it fixed mechanically.
