Default Side Mirror Loose

The driver side mirror is loose on my 2010 Es 350. I was as driving one when I heard a pop & noticed the mirror was shaking. Now it’s just loose from the assembly & moves when I drive. Has anyone has any issues with their side view mirrors? I’ve already replaced the assembly on my passenger side. How could I fix this?

You probably need to replace the mirror assembly. Do some searching here for instructions if inclined to do it yourself. Otherwise, go to a couple of body shops for estimates.
You should be able to find a used one on eBay, if you can find a color match. You could then ask the body shop for a labor only estimate and tell them no insurance is involved.

I had same problem. I found the vid on youtube that gave me some guidance. Instead of bashing the lock washer down, I made a split bushing (PVC) to
push with and not crush the wires, I rigged a 2x4 post to my ceiling and used a hydraulic bottle jack to apply controled pressure to push the lock washer down. I then secured it with a 2 piece shaft collar to be sure it doesn't happen again. Here is the vid link -

Has anyone had issue with the (gasket?) material between the mirror and door panel crumbling/flaking and having white/metal deposits embedded in their clearcoat?

Have had this issue for the past few years and thought it was oil spray drippings, but seems to be metal flakes.... Any fixes appreciated.

based on your post, I fixed this problem on my new-to-me 2010 es350; instead of using a split washer like you did, I used a large O2 sensor socket (the kind with the cutout for the wires) - the 7/8" size fit perfectly. one tap with a hammer, and I had the lock washer back in place.

Hey, what is the bore size on the shaft collar you used for this? I did a quick measurement when I had the mirror disassembled a while back and I think the diameter is somewhere between 1 and 1-1/4 inch, but the sizes are so specific when I go to look at shaft collars so I want to be sure.
I actually used the same video you provided a few years back to fix my mirrors the first time, but they keep popping up. Thanks

My mirror has done the same thing. Is the painted mirror actuator all I would need to fix this issue? The actual mirror seems fine but it is loose where the actual mirror meets the "mount" that attached to the door. Thanks in advance!

Just had this happen to my 2010 ES350 out of nowhere. I wonder if thats the noise I heard a while back while driving. Maybe the spring clip came undone on some rough road. I came out one morning and the driver mirror is all loosy goosy. Gonna try to figure this out based on the YouTube video and this thread, seems like it can be done carefully to make sure it doesn't happen again. Had no idea this was even a thing on these cars.
