Default 07 ES 350 Display RED TINT

I was carrying a board from the lumber yard through the ski hole and backed into something enough to cause the board to push up against the display screen....no cracks but the color is now a reddish tint.
Is there any procedure to turn it back normally ?

As usual, my calls to the dealer never get returned.

I am not interested in replacing the display. I was hoping the Forum would have information. I see in the Navigation manual that the color CAN be controlled. Page 154

Is there a DVD with this system ? Not with my car..

My bet is you damaged the screen but maybe there is a solution that someone knows. If not you either need to live with it or replace the screen.

The page from the navigation menu applies only to vehicles that can play DVDs. Why a car should play a DVD from the main display is another issue, but I am unable to alter the Red/Green setting.

I will try pulling the screen out with suction cups on the off chance that restoring the screen position may be beneficial. I suspect it won't help and I will just learn to live with a red screen.

From an internet search I see that LCD screens typically turn red when there is an issue. On a computer, it is suggested that one perform a power cycle. Would that likely involve unhooking the battery to "reset" the car computer ?

If you want to try "resetting" then yeah, disconnect the battery. You will have to leave it disconnected for a few minutes to drain any capacitance. I don't think resetting is going to help though. I'm betting the screen was damaged as jagtoes suggested. Or it could be a connector.

That screen is gone ? Really ? a $ 2 suction cup yanked back just made it new again. But thanks for the encouragement to fix it.

You seem more interested in selling your stuff on the forum than helping Lexus owners solve problems.

for LjeksesEs and all express who were so quick to offer a new display when I first posted. The forum is better suited to helpful owners than ambulance chasers.

good work solving your prob. ur a bit harsh on forum members imo; aliexpress is just a form of ebay/amazon and it was just suggested as a source for a new display. even experts are sometimes wrong

Sorry if I was harsh. It is just that the very first suggestion from this forum was "It is obvious your display is toast. Buy this from me." I did not mean to cast aspersions on the vendor. I'm sure he/she is well respected.

I objected to the immediate diagnosis that I needed to replace.... with their part. Maybe 90% of the time that suggestion might be right. However, look at it from my side. I would not have gone to the forum if I were throwing up my hands without trying to first troubleshoot. That is all.
Again, my apologies to all offended. Won't happen again.
