2GR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: SFI SYSTEM: P0365,P0367,P0368,P0390,P0392,P0393: Camshaft Position Sensor "B" Circuit (Bank 1)
DESCRIPTION
The exhaust camshaft's Variable Valve Timing (VVT) sensor consists of a magnet and MRE (Magnet Resistance Element).
The exhaust camshaft has a sensor plate with 3 teeth on its outer circumference.
When the exhaust camshaft rotates, changes occur in the air gaps between the 3 teeth and MRE, which affects the magnet. As a result, the resistance of the MRE material fluctuates. The VVT sensor converts the exhaust camshaft rotation data to pulse signals, uses the pulse signals to determine the camshaft angle, and sends it to the ECM.
The troubleshooting is fairly long and technically detailed. Depending on the outcome of the testing you may need to replace the sensor, the connector, wiring or worst the ECM. I'm sure in most cases it ends up being the sensor.
Camshaft and VVT sensor is the same on this one.
Located in Bank 1 cylinder (firewall side under the intake plenum)
Sensor you are looking for is bolted on top of the valve cover with a 3 wire connector.
Exhaust camshaft side.
It will be hard to see since its under the plenum.
Here is a pic.
Hope this helps.

Is it a pre cat or post cat camshaft position sensor for B bank 1 high input?

Are you looking for an Air/Fuel aka Oxygen sensor?
Camshaft position sensors are not installed after a catalytic converter.
