Default Carmax 2008 ES 350

My apologies if Carmax is a dirty word. This is my first post here. Im in the market for a new used car with a fairly tight budget of $15k. I see nothing but amazing things about the ES350.

hoping to see reactions to this just to orient myself. I’m fully aware that carmax is likely not the place to find the best deals.

Yeah-can probably find less expensive elsewhere. Not exactly low mileage either.

I really don’t trust carmax. Last time I visited one to look at an accord at one location it was missing an exhaust tip, had a terrible dadh repair, and had a gash in one of the tires. Sales guy seemed disinterested when I told him.

Nice color I bought a 2007 and I love it. Try to find a 2010+ would be my advice. There’s allot of little updates on the 2010 which fix allot of the little annoyance’s of the car but all things considered my 07 is great. Look for there’s a sticky/melting dash issue there now doing dealer tsb repairs for 09 and up I believe. They previously did the 07/08 so your particular car might have been already repaired.

I paid 6.5K for my 08 es350 base 93k last year with power steering leaking. Spent around 1K to fix it plus all the other things like new brake, rotors and all the oil. so I think 12k for 08 es350 is way too much.

I think they're asking too much for that kind of mileage. I paid 14K for my 2010 with 52,000 miles (private owner on Craigslist). Even that was high in my opinion, but ES 350's are rare in Hawaii, and the color was right, Starfire Pearl, so I couldn't pass it up! You might be able to find a low-mileage 2010 - 2012 well within your budget. Advice... if you shop on Craigslist, be sure the vehicle has a "clean" title, and do a VIN check.

Those guys from Carmax are asking 3-4000 more than they should.

For 12000 you can have a 2011 with less miles.
Use autotrader.
