Cat temps at Sensor 1 and Sensor 2?
I am trying to trouble shoot a possible bad catalytic converter(s). and would like to get some rough benchmark numbers for catalytic converter temps at 1.) idle and 2.) where the B1S1 and B2S1 temps are at least 1000* F. (over 1400 RPM)
If anyone with a recent diagnostic or with a good scan tool, (with a good running car) could please let me know what they have for the following:
1. AT IDLE:
Catalyst Temp B1S1, Catalyst Temp B1S2,
Cat. Temp. B2S1, Cat Temp B2S2
2. AT OVER 1000*F (Over 1400 RPM) for B1S1 & B2S1
Catalyst Temp B1S1, Catalyst Temp B1S2,
Cat. Temp. B2S1, Cat Temp B2S2
I ask because from what I understand, the temps should be hotter at Sensor 2 (S2) vs. Sensor (S1) if the cat is working well. An external temp reading near those two sensors with an IR thermometer should also verify this. Well, mine are almost always hotter at S1, sometimes almost 400 degrees hotter. Its not throwing any codes, but the MPG is way down. ANY assistance would be GREATLY appreciated. (2007 ES-350)
