Burn Oil?
Is this normal for 2008 ES 350 to burn about a quart of oil between oil changes. I took my car in today for an oil change and was told the oil level was low. there is no sign of leaking etc.

That's within acceptable parameters for most manufacturers. Your lost oil is likely burning through the combustion process, either worn out rings or stem guides. A quart every 5K may not be enough to cause visible smoking at the tailpipe. As the rings or stem guides wear out and cause more oil burning, blue smoke at the tailpipe will become evident.
Ours would burn about half a quart between oil changes, but I go 10K between changes. To compensate, I overfill by .3 quarts.

It depends on the mileage of the car and the interval of the oil change. For a car with under 100K miles there should be no oil usage for at least 5000 miles. The other quest I would ask is did the dealer lie to you . Did you check the oil level before you bought the car in for the service. Trust but verify.

Well it is good preventive maintenance to check your oil level every few months or so. That is so little oil over so many miles that it is completely normal. Also, most dealers that I have seen usually overfill the oil.

How many miles?
I would replace the PCV and start from there.
