Headlight fog

My headlights were so fogged that I couldn't see what was in there. They looked like old yellow incandescent bulbs not HID's. My son is an autobody man. He took a small electric buffer and some rubbing compound and buffed then out rather than going to the sandpaper and hours of labor routine. I recommend the buffer method.. They look like brand new. I can now see the beam is bright, well focused and slightly blue. I can see that it moves again like it is supposed to. I should have a taken a before shot but spaced it out. Here is a after shot to show how clear they are,

Mine's an 08 and has the same hazing - happens to all plastics over time, unfortunately.
