Unhappy Whole lot of shaking going on

I was experiencing vibrations and shaking in the front of my 2008 ES 350. This was actually the first major issue I HAVE EVER experienced with this car. I have always completed the scheduled maintenance and get regular oil changes, tire rotation and balance, etc. In an effort to resolve the problem, I had a "force road balance" performed; bought new tires; got a front-end alignment and still the problem persisted. I checked YouTube, Club Lexus, and talking to my long-time mechanic to get to the root of the problem. My gut told me the problem was related to my drive shaft/axle as I had 117,000 miles on the car and knew they could be worn. Turns out I was right. Found a Japanese Import specialist to helped me diagnose the problem and replaced both axles at a very reasonable cost and it's been smooth sailing ever since. I bought this car 7 years ago with 12,000 miles on it and haven't missed a beat!!! Lexus is my car of choice after buying Nissan, Honda and Infiniti.

Thank you for sharing this.
I know how you feel about your lexus i love my 07 ES350 now has 172k on it bought it with 44k in 2013 have now had to complete 3 major repairs at 70k the Water Pump but that was common issue in 07 from what i have heard and read.
at 101k the alternator went out.
luckly my service contract extended covered both those repairs.

Noow with 172k the cat is bad for one of them so i am replacing that i don't mind spending upwards of 900 for this to be completed because i know that ill be keeping the car another 100k atleast 2 or 3 more years with the way i drive so im ok spending that on it.

Sorry to bring this one up. My 2008 lexus just suddenly exhibits same problem, i am in process of trying to replace both front axles too and a few aftermarket brands available but all seems have bad reviews. By any chance you know what brand of axles were replaced?
As of now i am leaning to the FEQ instead of Cardone just because that are what my indy prefer too.

thanks.

Sorry, but I don't know the brand name my independent mechanic used to replace both of my front axles. He owns a shop called "Made in Japan" and he ordered the parts from one of his supplier. Since he replaced my front axles my 2008 Lexy is back to riding as smooth as silk. Hope the replacements your indy uses do the trick for you, too.

Had the same 3 issues repaired on a 2008, beside that, i feel that the car is a bulletproof machine. The WP was preventive, the alternator make shining noise, but still working, the cat has rusted and the remaining pipes are showing sign of rust too.
