Default Torque Strut Mount ?

HI and good afternoon. I was at firestone today and they told me the Torque Strut Mount on my 2007 lexus es350 needs to be replace on top of the engine
i asked them what it was they said its like the motor mount i said like ?
it seems like they didn't want to explain to me what it was they just wanted the money and then they couldn't even give me a price for it because they have to find the part first.

is the Torque Strut mount the same as the engine mount for the top ?
or are these two different parts ? do both need to be replaced at the same time ?

thank you

If they aren't telling you what you want to know, walk away.

FYI - The torque struct mount on Rock Auto: http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/l...rut+mount,5556

Make them take you out to the garage and show you where it is, and why it needs to be replaced. They do occasionally wear out, but it is rare.

I would say a torque strut needing replacement is quite common, at least on the older 1MZ-FE and 3MZ-FE engines. The mount looks similar on these newer ES as well.

Pop open the hood, and on the top left you will see the mount. Peel back the outer rubber protective circle on the outside edge and look inside at the mount for any cracks in the rubber.
