Default Wierd thing just happened...

When I went to shut my ES350 off, there was a message "Key Battery Low" ... then
"Moon Roof Open"

1). My key battery isn't that old.

2). Does it tell you the Moon Roof is open in case it might rain or?

Curious... Feedback please

1. My wife's fob constantly chews through batteries because she keeps it in her purse and the signal has to get through all her junk. Mine, on the other hand, has had the batteries replaced exactly once since I bought the car new.

2. Yes. It's a Lexus and will nanny you to death.

Thumbs up

Not weird at all actually. The messages are totally unrelated.
Just coincidence that they both came up at the same time.

As far as the moonroof goes, that message is totally normal.
Upon entering or exiting the vehicle, if the moonroof is open at all that message will flash on the info display.

Regarding the battery low message, there is no rhyme or reason to it as far as time passing.
Keep in mind the battery is not bone dead at that point, but it's getting iffy.
You could definitely get more time out if you want.

That being said, I usually change it out within week or so of getting that message.
Don't feel like going through the manual process of getting into the car

If you keep your key fob in a pocket with other objects or in a purse where objects can hit the buttions then you will go through a battery in a short time. Normal battery replacement should be once a year.
