Default Passenger inside CV boot leaking.

As anyone else had this problem? 2007 Es350 with 60k. Boot is not cracked or split and does not have any holes. It appears to be leaking where the big band is next to the tx. Dealership wants 450.00 to replace both boots on the axle.

I had a similar issue earlier this year on my 2009, although it was just the inner boot. The dealer replaced the boot under the power train warranty.

This pb has been address on this site and in the lexus lx 470 forum. You can buy a special tool to tightened the original clamp......or (this is what I did on my lx470) you can get an adjustable stainless steel radiator clamp and place it over the original clamp and tighten. You can get a good quality clamp at any local auto parts store. I used a 1" to 1 1/2" size.. Easier to do when car is on a lift.....This works as long as the boot is not cracked
