Planning on used 2010-2011 ES350
I, too, am considering a used 2010 or 2011 ES350. (Have about given up locating a decent LS430, but that’s another post) I see, over and over, CARFAX reports that paint an incomplete picture. Specifically oil changes. Many entries simply say “required maintenance” or some such thing. Other notations on oil changes leave me wondering if the oil was a synthetic (longer intervals) or merely done at a location that made no record of the service.
I guess none of this is specifically problematic to ES 350 seekers, but I do notice that Lexus owners tend to do more of the scheduled maintenance at the dealership...IF they value what they have. So perhaps this lends some additional comfort when pulling the trigger on my first used car...a history of dealer service on the car.
Have any of you found the driver’s leg-room/hip-room more roomy than say a Camry?

Looking like a camry isn't the real problem, I just wonder if overall quality is better.. like better steel of panels, or , most importantly , paint..If paint is bad, or put on in very thin and few layers... I just really hate corrosion. Currently have mazda 3 2005, and this year is rotting through (mainly one of the few reasons for switching)
And I noticed you said HAD Es 350.. were you on lease ? or just got bored? what did you get after.

You never know what you get so you either trust the person you buy the car from or the dealer. As an example I have just turned 54K miles on my 2010. I had 1 free dealer oil change and I believe 1 TSB done. I maintain this car myself and change the oil every 5K miles with Castrol 5W-30 dino oil and the OEM Lexus filter. I usually do the other stuff , anti-freeze , brake fluid , pads and rotors, air/cabin filters and wiper blades. Did 1 set of tires and 2 TPMS sensors. So all in all I haven't found a need to use a dealer or a quick oil change place. So the question of whether car fax has info on this car would only reflect the 1st early visits. The question would be "would you buy this car" or look for one with 10 pages of history.
HMy car has a little bit of rust bahind the license plate plastic base thing, nothing crazy might get it repainted next year. From far the car is still crazy shiny and looks great but when you get up close it looks like if the previous owner used a rake to clean the snow off of the car.

Thanks for the great information. I’ll definitely look into myLexus....sounds like a wonderful asset for the used car shopper like myself. As for the ATF flushes, given the wealth of information on a well-maintained car, I would hope that something like that would be done. I’d heard of doing a complete oil flush, but not this.
Sorry for raising the “thread from the dead”...all in the spirit of Halloween!!
thanks again—

congrats on bringing back a thread from the dead! I had an 07 Camry Se back in 07 and the dimensions inside are probably the same, but you can google interior dimensions easily. Most of these cars are dealer serviced because there expensive vehicles, doesn’t make sense to buy a new 40k+ vehicle and take it to the car wash for service. If you sign up for myLexus you can look up a cars maintenance records by the vin without actually owning the car. It’s not perfect but definitely more detailed than the car fax maintenance records, if done at the dealer. Main thing I found unfortunately almost nobody did on these vehicles is ATF flushes but that’s because there not on the maintenance guide for there own dumb reasons. I would of loved to have found one that said ATF flush at 50K but I gave up on trying to find that.
