I have recently purchased a 2010 ES350 with NAV and have not been able to turn the AC compressor off

When you lower the fan speed all the way to off, the AC compressor is still on, if you are driving you can still feel the cold air coming out from the vents. There are all sorts of climate controls but I have not been able to find an AC shut off switch yet

Can someone tell me how this is done??

There's a button that says "OFF"...

 

There's a big off button under the radio.

You're correct the button under the radio turns the fan off too.

Select Climate above the Audio button on the left side of the Nav screen...note the AC button on the NAV screen with the green light line above it...press the AC button on the Nav screen and that will turn off the AC and the green light. You can set the fan speed where you like, as you already know. AC will come back on when you press the main AC button below the NAV screen or the same button on the NAV screen you pressed to turn the AC off
