Default interior lights and keyless entry

I noticed that when I walk up to my car and grip the handle the puddle lights light up, the car unlucks but the interior lights do not go on. They should go on also. shouldn't they?

The switch with the "car/doors" icon on it when pressed in (locked position) enables the entry light (with fade) system which operates when you open a door. When the switch is "out" the entry light system is disabled. The switch with the "light" icon on it is simply an on/off switch for the two front overhead (reading) lights and rear dome light. Not sure when it occured but these two switch locations are reversed on my 2011. Test them out.......sit in the driver's seat and operate the switches and open/close your driver door etc. That's how I figured them out. The lower door panel lights and foot well lights will always come on when a door is opened......at least with my 2011.
