Default How To Install Side Molding Video

This last weekend I installed the body side molding kit on my new 2011 ES350 and I made a short How-To video. Some might find it helpful:

Very nice! Definitely an easy DIY.

My favorite is the $100 Lexus install of the cabin air filter, that I discovered takes less than 2 minutes to do myself.

One thing I failed to mention is that it is a good idea if it is above 60 degrees when you install the molding. Should not be done in cold weather. The warmer, the better.

When I did mine I did the same thing by using blue tape to mark the height. I then taped the molding on and made sure that the tape on top of the molding was tight to the body. I then lifted up the molding from the bottom and removed the protective tape and then stuck the molding to the body. It worked out pretty good.

My 2011 had the body side molding and rear spoiler already installed. These options were part of the window sticker option description. Who installed? Manufacturer, Port of Entry Lexus Service or selling dealer?

These are usually dealer installed options.

So they add to the MSRP sticker, ship loose maybe in the trunk and install at the dealer?

From Sewell Lexus, one of the board sponsors. Got a nice discount for being a Club Lexus member.
