Default Help.. New es350 vs 2012 Acura TL

I have owned an ES 350 all options available since 2008, and I totally love the car. I have gotten the new car itch.. and truly cannot decide to go with the new Es350 or the acura TL. I am a techie, and I love all the gadgets, bells and whistles. I only commute 10 miles a day, and cart some family/friends of kids around alittle, and do no long distance driving in this car.

Has anyone else owned a TL recently, and can give me their opinion on it, or what the readers here would do in my shoes ??

Thanks sooo much in advance for any ideas or opinions.

If you like (or don't mind) the styling of the TL I say go for it - change things up. Have you driven it yet?

Sometimes everything looks good on paper but when you get in the car it just isn't a good fit.

Tough choice IMO! I like the styling tweaks they've made to to 2012 TL. It's easier on the eyes now.

I also like the interior and exterior tweaks Lexus made beginning with the 2010 models. It freshened up the car.

I had a 2007 ES and shopped around looking for its replacement not planning on another Lexus (LaCrosse, G37X, TL, Q5 & RX plus a couple of others) before deciding on a 2010 ES.

Good luck with your decision. Both cars are nice.

We traded our ES350 and got a Tl. 3G Tl though. I have to say the 3G TL handles much better then the ES350. The TL is faster then the ES350. I say you test drive the new TL and see what you think. I would take the TL if I were you....your getting another ES? To me that would be getting the same car again.

Test drive the TL .

On a side note. Miss the ES350. It got sold so quick. Within a week someone bought it. Funny thing is they bought it for more then we bought it for LOL. We bought the car for 23k CPO from Lexus in early 2010. Had about 30k miles on it. Car was loaded except for nav.

The dealer we traded the car into sold it for $24.5k. Car had 43.5k miles on it.

I don't think the 2012 ES350 has been released yet. Wait until later this year to make up your mind. You should get a new body style and more/different set of bells and whistles.

After testing a bunch of cars I finally decided on the ES350. The TL is a very nice car, more sporty then the ES but personnaly, I did not like the dash, kinda out dated, too many buttons and switches. The seats were nice and the SHWD was great but without the wood finish and and the strange styling I opted out of the TL. To each his own though, it really depends on what your personal tastes are and what you are looking for. Either way I don't think you can go wrong if you choose one or the other depending on what your tastes are.

The TL is a funny looking car...kinda looks like a front and rear smile. I just can't get past the funky style.

Haven't been able to take any Acura seriously since the Legend -- they ruined the line with that jokey chevron theme (and it's only gotten worse over time). While the ride, handling and reliability is compelling, I just cringe at the thought of having to look at that stupid smiley face every time I approach it!

+2 on the funky looks for the TL. Test drove it. Nice. Looked at it, front and back, bought the Lexus.

I was going to get the new TL... i loved it the only thing that sold me between the 2 cars was the ES has a/c seats, and luxurious wood trim, and of course price deal i got... the ES is kinda too kushy if you like any excitement and i have 22s on my es and its still too kushy.... es wood and few gadget in the tl would have kick the es out of the running.

i also think the tl styling is bold and commanding.. i love that about it
