I have a 1995 ES300 and a Tundra and I use the back joy that is portable and I use it at work and it keeps your core engaged and relieves the lower back fatigue. I have used if for a couple of years and can drive and/or ride for hours and also sit at the computer for hours at work and my back feels fine. You can get one at Bed Bath and Beyond for 39.99 and if you use a coupon even if it is expired it will take another $5 or 20% off the price. Hope this helps anyone with lower back pain and/or fatigue. smiles1111

After about 3 weeks of owning a 2007 model and 2 hours daily commute, I concluded that the seats were not comfortable. I noted that the seat bottom foam provided no support (felt like a worn out lawn chair) and lumbar support was poor (if I don't extend it no support was there and if I extend it the support was too hard - felt like a fist in my lower back). All this pointed to overcompressed foam.
So I took it in to a seat upholster to add some support to it and he did just that: added 1" firmer foam to seat bottom section and cut holes in it for ventilation, 1" firmer foam to seat back and 1" medium firmness foam to side bolsters. This now feels like a whole new seat now with nice support and cushion. Well worth the $200 investment

The seats on my 2007 utra luxury are very comfortable but I drove a standard 2010 loaner and it was really really bad! I tried all the settings and i was just sinking in the damn thing! I dont think ul package gets different seats so im guessing its kind of a hit or miss...

Seat comfort definitely varies by person. It's too bad one doesn't find out the seats are uncomfortable until they've had a car for a while.
I had a 2007 and 2010 ES350 and the seats in both were fine - Especially for long trips which we took a lot in both cars. We now have an Audi and the seats are different/firmer than the Lexus were but very comfortable in their own way. There are some threads on an Audi forum about uncomfortable seats.

Seats are very personal so one can find complaints across all models. The seat upholster told me that he just finished working on a BMW Z and Infiniti G with the same problem as mine...
One thing that is different for ultra seats is that they have seat ventilators = holes in seat bottom cushion = easier for them to compress and loose support...
I have an '07 so it had a few years of butt time :P but I am also sure that the foam may have changed in later years due to a lot of complaints...

It's the clothes!!!
Fine silk, and similar easy sliding pants cause your but to slide forward and your back constantly fighting to correct..
it's painful I just experienced it...
I know it's sound crazy... try to wear something else
(just finished 2500 miles trip/ research)
