Default Negotiate Certified Pre-Owned Lexus

Hi All,

I'm new to buying Lexus. I'm shopping for a ES and is wondering if anyone here have tips on negotiating with the dealer on Certified Preowned 2008. How much negotiation room is there usually? If the car has a value or retails for $33,000, where should I start the negotiation ... Will the dealer throw me out the door if I start the talk at $29,000?

Thanks.

Food for thought here. I traded my 2008 for a 2010 and it had 19,000 miles on it. They classified it as a CPO car and they said they would give me $29,000 for the trade. I saw my car on their CPO program 3 days later and it listed for $35,000. It was sold in a week and my sales guy told me they got $34,000 for it. This was early in the year so you need to gage where you are today. Good luck.

My neighborhood lexus dealer told me they usually mark it up by 10%
above their cost. Not sure how true this is though as all pricing depends
on the supply and demand

dont give a darn.. just give them a price and then walk away.. u can call back.. and raise the bid etc... they do this as a business day in day out. we are sheep to them

When I bought my CPO a year ago I was told that the dealer did not negotiate. And they didn't either. I should have waited 4 months. By then the runaway Toyotas were all over the news and I could have gotten one for a song.
