Default Used price point

While I was at the dealer for my safety recall I sat with the sales guy to price a new ES. I looked at a floor model which had the same features as my car. It listed out at $40K. I asked for a walk away price for me to trade and leave with the 2010 model. The net is $15K and my car. Mind you I have a 2008 with 18K miles on it so the trade in value without any negotiation was $25K. I suspect if I try hard enough I could do the deal for $12K. They said they would sell my car as a certified used . FYI

Not bad. Sounds like a good time to buy a (Toyota/Leuxs) car.

I have had my 07 ES UL with 57K appraised at about 5 different dealers within the last 2 weeks. All of them are offering around $20K. Seems I am not getting any additional bump for the UL package.

Noticed about $12K off MSRP and 0.9% for 60 on a 2010 Infiniti M 35X. Might take one for a spin.

The net you would be financing or rolling it into a new loan is 15K? That's not all that good IMO. I was seriously thinking about trading in my 09, but I couldn't see paying the extra money, it wasn't much about $20.00 bucks a month. The dealer was going going to give me KBB, $33K. I have less than 5K miles on it. I started to think what would the next generation ES look like? I like the general look of the 2010, but there are few things I prefer on the 07-09. The grill and interior, not much of a wood man, unless I'm bumping up to an LS or S600. I'm looking out beyond to the next generation ES. Yeah the M35 was my second choice after the ES.

When I was looking at the G37x both times that I was in the Infiniti dealership I checked out an M35x that was on the floor. Very nice. With a new M37 coming out soon, there are probably good deals on the M35. It's one of Consumer Reports highest rated cars.

Don't leave me MD! You and I are one of the last original '07 owners here.

Remember back then...almost 4 years ago. This place was hoppin'!

LOL, not leaving yet. Wonder where all of those 07 owners went?

I took a flashlight and really got into my engine. When that oil hose broke, it left a huge mess because I was driving for about 3 miles while the oil was spraying out. Bottom line, the dealer cannot do anymore to clean it, there are brown stained hoses and stained parts deep in there..so lets say that it will never be the same and that is why I continue to get a burning smell when the engine is hot. So, yeah, I am car shopping.

Looking at the M and actually the Acura TL SH-AWD...as well as the 10 ES. I do like the idea of AWD, especially after how poorly the ES performed in the blizzard. However, I do notice that you can now turn off the traction control on the 10's...imagine that!

Might do some test driving later today.

Completely understand. I would not be happy with the oil smell either.

Hey, just a thought, but my brother has a beautiful AWD RL that he bought last year. Almost the same smokey granite color as mine. He wants to sell it cause he never drives it. It lives in his garage.

Hmmm....

MD, have you driven a 2010 ES yet? If/when you do I'd like to hear your thoughts. As I mentioned in another thread, the new one seems more solid and quieter than my '07 did.

I have not drove it, but did sit in the one in the showroom and played around with the new nav. I love the changes!

One thing that I do love about the ES is the back seat for the kids, as well as the size of the trunk. The ES is not out of the question, I just want to see what else is out there. I am, however, afraid that going to an AWD will be a harsh ride. I have been spoiled in the ES.

Well I'll be. Only 46 posts on an original '07. Must be a good one!
