mods to ES350?
#17
I had a 2006 ES350 back in 2006, kept it for 10 months, boy it was fast (I've taken it up to the governed 155MPH) but the cockpit was cramped, lots of blind spots, and the sunroof made creaking noises - not to mention the 10% added horse power cost more then that in fuel economy compared to the ES.
The ES with the Ultra package was a nice lateral move in my opinion, trading a few ponies in for a quiet compliant and predictable ride. My only desire is to open up the throttle sound just a little, I wish there was a certified compatible CAI solution for the ES. Instead of lowering the suspension I opted to get slightly bigger tires, 60 series, it closes the gap between the fender and the tire just a bit and in the process I purchased light weight racing rims which shaved about 20% of the rotational mass and unsprung weight off the wheel/tire package.
Regarding body roll, there's more then in the IS for sure, but I think it's very competent in the sense that the performance is linear, unlike the IS. When pushed the IS will simply brake loose vs the LS which will warn you by rolling dramatically first before you loose control. (you should note in the IS with only rear wheel drive, it doesn't take much to "PUSH" it as I stated above especially in the rain) Just my $.02

Mods to es35p
Recently purched a 2007 es350. Only done cosmetic mods to it so far. I want to start doing some performance mods now. I read that a putting in a short ram intake (dragon intake by weapon-r) is a good one. Also should i do a muffler and resonator delete? Or just a muffler or not at all? I read that an is250 owner did a muffler delete and lost a lot of low end torque. Is that cuz its an inline 4? Any thoughts? Thanks. (Low budget college student)

No you dont need an is nodding an es is easy
I got the pulley upgrade and Japan market supercharger for this engine then... used a throttle body spacer fed by a pure cold air intake.. then I got the forged pistons and the ecu remap done and throttle control unit upgrade .. then body kit moving wing and diffusers side skirts etc. Head light upgrades suspension as well and control arm and sway bar upgrades as well as a heaftier strut tower brace set up ... after weight reduction as well she Is not a sportster but cna put many to shame
