No one really answered the filter question. Yes, the ES350 has an ATF filter; but, no, the owner's manual does not address when to change out the filter. It is a paper element and gets dirty quicker than the mesh types. When I replaced the filter at 155K, it was very dirty. I was glad I replaced it. Removing the ATF pan is tricky as you have to unbolt the front and driverside motor mounts and raise the trany a few inches in order to remove two pan bolts.

ATF filter: Its a strainer, not really a filter. Lots of cars are like this nowadays. Leave it alone. HOWEVER, do drain/exchange/whatever your ATF

LjeksesES: NICE DIY!!!!

It's more than a strainer on our 07.

Default Price of Transmission flush at Toyota dealership

We gave my mom's 2008 ES350 to the local Toyota Dealership for transmission flush at 86k miles this past weekend. They charged $219 plus tax after a coupon (Reg price is $239 i believe). I don't know if it is in my head or if I haven't driven my mom's car enough, but this morning while driving it on a 3 mile errand, I saw the RPMs jump between a low gear shift. I'm wondering if this is the "Flare" i read about on the net and I wonder if it happened before the fluid flush. Oh well, we'll see how long the transmission holds up because my mom plans on keeping this car for a very long time. Will post back if anything happens

After a lot of reading and pondering, I ended up flushing our atf at 75k and replacing the filter. I used valvoline, who at that time was the only manufacturer who made a full synthetic replacement for the world standard fluid. I used the bucket method and I'm glad I did. The old fluid and filter were both very dirty. Car shifts smoother now than it did when we bought it with 50k on the odometer. I'll be flushing it again in another 75k. (I've put 20k on the car since the flush and everything is working great.)

Does these parts apply to my 2010?

Do I need to replace the Crush washer gaskets for the drain & fill plugs? If so do you have the part numbers?
