What work is done at the 20k service and what does it cost?

well i think the major services are the 15k and the 30k... and so on in increments of 15, i believe the 20k is just an average evey 5k mile service.. basic oil change and a grip of checking stuff.. but then again.. i could be wrong.

I had my ES serviced at 20,000 miles recently - Cost $56 for an oil change at the Lexus Dealer. I had the tires rotated at Discount Tire - Free.

The "recommended" items for the 20K service are listed in the Warranty and Service manual that's included with the owners manual. The cost will vary by dealer. It's a good idea to call your dealer and ask how much it is.

Off the top of my head, other than oil and tire rotations, it is not until 30K when you need to flush the brake fluid and change the air filter/cabin filter.

I'm translating from what Lexus Canada does at the 32k km service. Something called "regular maintenance":

• Inspect cabin air filter
• Inspect ball joints and dust cover
• Inspect body and paint
• Inspect brake lines and hoses
• Inspect brake pads and discs
and/or linings and drums
• Inspect chassis nuts and bolts
on body
• Inspect coolant, brake and
washer fluid levels
• Inspect drive belts
• Inspect exhaust pipes
and mountings
• Inspect lights, horn and wipers for
proper function
• Inspect steering linkage
• Inspect transmission and power
steering fluid levels
• Lubricate locks, latches
and hinges
• Remove and inspect air
filter element
• Replace engine oil and filter
• Road test

At Lexus today 20k is just a normal service. Nothing extra.
