Default clear bra on white 350

Has anyone put a clear bra on a white ES350? I haven't used this product in the past so I googled the website for some info and noticed that the clear film is "almost undetectable on any color except white." I'd like to use this product on the front bumper and possibly the hood, but not if it will change the color. Does anyone have experience with this product on white cars? (Starfire Pearl)

Also, are there are brands other than 3M that are recommended?

Thanks,

2007 ES350

I've seen clear bra and a starfire pearl ES350 and didn't really find it any more or less noticeable than on any other color.

Me too. My local Lexus dealer thought Starfire Pearl w/ clear bra looked so nice, they had it displayed on the showroom floor.

I can't see why it's noticeable on white and not on any other color. From what I've learned in the past, the lighter colors (including white) actually make it less noticeable.

Anyways, there are pics (for what it's worth ) in the GS section of a clear bra on a white lexus.

I have it installed on my ES350. Cannot discern where it joins rest of the car.

Isn't that a possibility with any color car? Some brands are better than others at not turning yellow apparently. Make sure it comes with a good warranty. My buddy's Merc has it (dark, dark blue) and he's had it replaced once already cuz it turned yellow.

16 months, 22K miles later on my 3M clear bra on silver. Driven in a sorts of weather. Snow to humid summer days. Been run through many car washes. Still looks like new.

I had a clear bra installed on my Artic White MB last weekend. Not the same color as your ES, but it should give you an idea of what to expect. I'll take some pics this weekend once the weather clears up.

As for the brand, Venture film gets great reviews. That's what I had installed on my car.

As others have stated, its not any more noticable than other colors. I have seen a lot of white cars and they look great. I say go for it, I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Side note: Are you thinking of installing it yourself? I would recommend having someone install it. I have given my dad bits and peices for his motorcycle that he has done on his own. He spent many hours with the proper 3M stuff, and it had bubbles and stretch marks in it. Its well worth paying someone to install it that knows what they are doing.

Thanks for the feedback on white cars. I have a 2000 ES and the only scratches I have are on the front bumper. I'd like to keep that from happening to my new ES.

yes, I think I will try it myself. I have some experience with paint and body and think I can work my way through it.....not that paint and body work makes me qualified to install the film, but it did teach me patience.....lots of patience.

I'll let you know how it goes.

There is a rubber squeegee that 3M makes that helps a lot when installing it. Try to get your hands on one. If you can't, I MIGHT be able to help you out with getting one. Ive seen people use soap, and a vinegar solution to help it stick. Make sure you keep it wet or it will stick to itself, or the car where it shouldnt. Also, if you have places that wont stick, like inside a curve on the hood or something, use a hair dryer.

Goodluck man.

Perhaps, but I mention white specifically because I've seen many with this type of item.....after several years (especially in areas where their cars experience harsh winter conditions) it turns a yellowish colour & looks bad. I've been told the newer clear bra's have corrected this problem however.
