iPod Connection
I'm thinking about finally getting an iPod since there is an input jack in the console. I have questions though- will the nav screen display the file name? Can you scroll through the songs on the nav screen? Can the audio controls be used or do you have to do everything on the iPod itself? Will the nav display video if played on the iPod? Is there anything else I should know that it can or can't do? Thanks

Try this post, it might help you out. I can tell you that without any modifications, the ipod simply plays music through the stereo, you won't be able to see your folders or music on the display without some type of mod (to the best of my knowledge).

Good morning,
The input in the center console is just an audio jack. A male-male 3.5 mm cable is all that is needed. Try Radio Shack or any electronic goodies shop. All you will get is the audio signal and you will control through the iPod. Don't run the iPod signal (volume) too loud or you will overload the input of the Lexus system. All control of the songs/playlists will be on the iPod.
For a small investment since you have the Nav, VaisTech (and others) make an interface that can be installed where you can control the iPod via the Nav system. I think that the sound is good with the ML, and with the wire bypass modification of "Mrs. Lexus' Lockouts" you can get pretty good control of the system via the Nav. Not perfect, just pretty good.
