Where was your ES manufactured?
according to wikipedia, 2 plants make the ES- kyushu and tsutsumi.
based on my vin#, my ES was built at plant code #2.
after searching the net, I found-
0= tsutsumi
so i assume 2= kyushu.
kyushu is the newer factory.
what is your plant #, and does it have any defects?
The plant number is the 11th digit of your vin #.

None of the above, that 3 digit sequence makes no sense.
The plant code follows model and all are same model-year, numeral 7.
The plant code is a single digit numeral that should follow the numeral 7 on ALL our cars.
The numeral 7 is the 10th digit reading left to right and the plant code is the 11th digit.

Here are the first 11 digits of my VIN, what you are looking for is just the 11th digit, right?

Yeah he was looking for the 11th digit...
...odd that 2 responded with the same 3 digit sequence in error.
See your tenth digit is a 7, that is the model year and should be identical on all our cars.

nana,
The 10th numeral of your VIN, reading from left to right, is the year of your model, it should be a 7 if your car is a 350 and likely would be a 6 if somehow you do have a 330.
Let your insurance company know for sure which model you do have once you have reviewed your VIN # so their records are accurate.

yeah. i'm not trying to do anything scientific here, because it's just not possible. Lexus hardly produces many defects. I'm just wondering if the ES is built in more than one factory.
