I watched jiffy lube do my oil change. And for God's sake, it's an oil change. It's not an engine overhaul. All your lexus dealership is going to do is unscrew a screw, drain the oil, change out the filter cartridge, and fill it with 6.5 quarts of pennzoil. it's not really that big of a deal, and I don't see any reason to spend the extra money to rotate the tires every 5000 miles.

At least with Jiffy Lube, I'm getting synthetic oil. And they top off the fluids too. which means they fill your car with windshield wiper fluid. And the minute Lexus finished putting conventional oil back in my car, I noticed the car was louder. Synthetic for me from now on, and I'll spend the $80 I saved on a detail job.

It's not about being cheap, I'll be more than happy to spend the money WHEN IT MAKES SENSE. but shelling out that much money for no reason is stupid.

People tell me, "You're a lexus owner! why do you have to be so cheap?" well, I'm 27, and I just bough a lexus. It's because I don't go around throwing away money on outrageous dealership pricing.

And the manual says you're supposed to rotate your tires every 10,000 miles. Take it to costco, they'll do it for like $20.

I'll take the car to Lexus at 25,000, when they do something I want only the lexus dealership to do. But for oil changes, fluid top-offs, and tire rotation, you'll never convince me that lexus will do a better job than your local gas station. Especially since I know I'm driving around with synthetic oil in my engine.

BTW, $55 discount pricing is for the oil change only.
