With gray connector, single thick wire. It was loose and fell inside the car.

Can the connector be seen in the picture in step 2 on page 1 of this thread? Is it the one on the bottom with single thick black cable? thanks for your help.

Can someone confirm this hack will work in a 2008 ES350?

I can't positively confirm it but so far as I know no changes were made between 2007 & 2008 that would affect the manual switch.

It works great in my 2008 ES350 Pebble Beach
The hardest part was figuring out where to mount the switch. I pulled out the ash tray and mounted it towards the top of that cubby.

So today when i went to have my Vais Tech SL3B unit installed i also showed the tech at the shop
these instructions he did this i am happy that he didn't drill a hole in the area where it shows in the photo because the bypass didn't work exactly the way it should have not sure why it didn't he isn't sure either.
he put a 2 way switch a toggle button under the dash he did have to drill a hole right to the right of the AFS button is where he put the switch he fallowed the insturctions on the wire to cut and then run the switch to.
it worked for the bypass but it would now allow the speed signal to be reingaged also when it was bypass it only worked for the blacked out options to show and for me to scroll throught the audio files when in motion and play a dvd just to test it.
but it would not allow me to input options and info for navigation
so i he took the radio back out and just put the wiresback the way it was and no bypass i think i am just going to buy a vais tech bypass unlock unit and install it.
