My wife's car came with Toyo tires. Is there more than one assembly plant for the ES350? Did anyone else get the Toyo tires with their car? My Avalon has the same size tires but they are made by Michelin

Re:
Michelin Energy MXV-4's here too.
I looked at other ES350's in the dealer's lot and they, too all had the ubiquitous Michelins. Good tires but overpriced. There are better out there. I put a set of Michelin Pilot Exaltos on my 2002 ES300 at around 40,000 miles and the car handled infinitely better. Added benefit, they only cost about $80 each.
Check out the Tire Rack web site and their ratings. They buried the MXV-4's.

Treadwear 220, Traction A, Temperature A
For you guys with the Michelin tires, what is the Treadwear rating on them? I think my Honda Ody. was up around 400 but the road noise was terrible too.

MXV4 Energy are junk tires as are most OEM tires, if you dont believe me look at the reviews on tirerack. Dont get them when you are due for replacements. They get really noisy later and braking power starts going

I notice that Goodyear Assurance TripleTreds are available in 215/55/17, which are very good tires. Mom had MXV4 on her avalon before, then got TripleTreds, difference was night and day. Braking was far better, ride comfort was much better, road noise nearly disappeared, and these should last at least twice as long as the MXV4 did, reviews speak for itself:

Tire Swap?
The treadwear rating for the Michelin is 440.
How do you like the Toyo tires? Are the Toyos quiet? I can't find the Toyo Proxes J33 on the Toyo website. My dealer will allow me to swap the Michelins for the Toyos which should improve my handling. Should I do it?

Summer Tire Recommendations for ES350
Hi All,
Does anyone have any tire recommendations for a summer tire that is sized 215/55-17? Due to sizing, I seem to be limited to the Avon Tech M500 and Goodyear Eagle GS-D. From the factory, we can also get the Toyo Proxes J33 too. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rich
