something tells me that some where there is one Lexus executive who worked on this es reading this forum and biting his nails thinking that we wont discus this issue so that they have a way of "screwing" us over when in 2 years they do a face left for the es and add the LEDs after we buy this one and price of this model drop signifigatly in the 2nd hand market

I doubt very much that a change in the type of lamps will impact "significantly" on the price of a resale.

I was also very surprised to see that the new ES and Camry being otherwise stellar and technologically advanced models over their predecessors do not feature LED tails. Now the Camry Hybrid does have LED tails, go figure.

Has anyone switched over their stock bulbs to LED?
Any recommendations?
Also, do you need a new flasher relay (to account for fast flash)?

Thaks

As stated above the third brake light in the center is already LED. The brake lights on the left and right are powered by 7443 bulbs and are plenty bright. I've ordered some cheap LED lights from eBay and their brightness is less than the stock halogen 7443 bulbs. I did notice any error for the short duration they were installed.

If you are referring to the rear taillight turn signals, then yes you would need flasher relays to prevent hyper-flashing.

Thanks for the info.
I was surprised to hear that the LEDs shine less than the halogens.

Lexus should have really went LED all around ... for such a 'premium' brand and the extra $0.02 it would have cost them.

Default Use Leds

Just upgrade the lights to LEDs yourself

Lol I hope you realize he complained about this almost 16 years ago!!

Looking back the 07-09 ES LEDS were horrible. Idk who was responsible for those horrible Orange accent leds, and the led same leds in the glovebox and console which didn’t light anything up. The only thing worse was the leds in the front overhead console!! Sheesh atleast they did a great job with the 2010 refresh they ironed out many little annoyances.

I have the 07 es 350 ultra premium and I have to admit the interior lighting is pretty bad. But the headlights are really good. Especially with the adaptive lights that point in the direction you're turning. Those are HIDs everything else exterior is halogen and can simply be swapped with LED bulbs. I have started changing the lights to led

That’s the same car that I had, I swapped out all those little Orange LEDS for pure white ones. I posted it a while ago it’s a little piece with the connector at the back with the LED in it. On my Camry back in the day I unsoldered the LED and swapped it for a cool white led before Toyota had the newer cool white version. They were like $10 a piece from the dealer. I swapped the glove box, the center console, the two by your feet, the shifter and I think there was one by the ashtray. It made the car feel so much newer on the inside. I also swapped the steering wheel for a 2010. I bought the wheel on eBay to steal the buttons but I ended up just swapping the entire thing. The front light console can be swapped but it involves soldering. I just used the map lights which I swapped all those for superbrightleds leds.
