2001 ES haunted audio system
sup guys.. here's the problem.. my amp had died so I went to the junk yard and got a replacement, but this one is acting up the same way the old one did... cuts off everything but the sub.. then it would turn on and distorted sounds... but here's the thing, I notice that it does this every time it rains.. I checked for leaks.. none.. so I dunno 🤷🏾♂️
Check all of your grounds and wire connections for corrosion. The humidity might affect them. It could also be the headunit. If it's factory, it might be on its way out. If it's aftermarket, it might not be hooked up correctly.
good luck 🍀
Edit:
You might also check the front passenger's sunroof drain, all of the door drains, and vapor barriers. Water needs to flow freely through the outer portion of the door and roof, onto the ground. If it's being blocked or diverted at any point, it could trickle down where you don't want it. A wet/damp connector won't necessarily cause catastrophic failure, and could regain most functionality once dry. A continuity test at the speaker connectors, and where the HU goes into the amp would hurt either.
